The Rose Family

The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose....
But the theory now goes
That the apple's a rose.
And the pear is, and so's
The plum, I suppose.

The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course are a rose -
But were always a rose.

গোলাপ কাহিনী

গোলাপকে ত গোলাপ বলেই জানতাম রে ভাই,
এখন শুনি বলছে সবাই আপেল নাকি তাই ।
নাসপাতিটাও গোলাপ হ'ল,
শোন হে সব্বাই;
টোপাকুল কি গোলাপ ফুল?
হয়ত হবে তাই ।

লক্ষ্মীটি তুই এবার বল,
গোলাপ হবে কোন সে ফল -
তুই তো ছিলি গোলাপ আমার,
যেন থাকিস তাই ।।
